"Not a BDO man"

His new profile picture says otherwise.

Loyalty, there. He's back...

Mark Hussell @MarkHussell
Won’t bother watching as Barney denied place. Shame. My fave tournament of the year.

Mark Hussell @MarkHussell
Barney, PLEASE reconsider your retirement. You genuinely have years left competing yet. Look at Merv King, still a top player. Think it over. You’re a long time retired as they say!

I think he should be sectioned for more than stalking.

Merv King? Still a top player? Fucking hell.

How can that guy Mark not see the difference between the situations of King and Barneveld? Mervyn King is a big practicer, early to venues, just gets on with it in a professional manner, and he seems to like it that way. Whereas Raymond van Barneveld, for a good few years now, has needed the big occasions to get himself going, and has admitted that he doesn't like the bread and butter tour events. It was a bit of running joke in recent years that Barney would announce a full schedule and then not do anything close to it, but now he has no choice in his final year because of where his ranking is.

And this thing of "you're a long time retired", I'll quote Phil Taylor "I'm not retiring from work, just the PDC tour and its television events". Taylor seems to be loving his current life more than his old one, as it's certainly less pressure, while still working, still playing darts, and still getting the competitive kick in exhibition events, soft tip events, or playing Leighton Bennett in a challenge match. Barney will be doing the same.

That was a short response by PT13's standards. :)
