Correct, as was said a year back Winmau had had enough. Is my understanding the counties etc don't buy the boards which is the main cost these days to sponsor them. The Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 11:22 amWinmau never paid for the Masters towards the end, the 2017 edition made a horrific loss according to the AGM last year and i expect the 2018 edition was no different. The Thorn wrote:Not a huge change really. One80 boards are pretty good as well. If they are paying for the Masters it's something at least
Bit harsh on Leighton, he's a lovely kid. I had the pleasure of getting completely dismantled by him last year and he was nothing but polite. He's exciteable but his dad soon reigns him in when he acts up. He'll learn. The Thorn wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 7:40 pm The kid is a bit of a prick, which is a shame. Can kinda cope with the likes of Price and Cadby, as it can be funny. But seeing a 13 year old do that is just a bit sad. Of course he can change a lot still but you gotta think of his opponents.
From that angle though, the likes of Price aren't too great role models though. I have little issue with him being himself, but seeing every second young player turn out like this is just disappointing. Just as we don't want robots, we don't want half the players being insufferable and disrespectful cunts either.
Another message from Des:The BDO are excited to announce that the new venue for the BDO World Trophy will be the King George’s Hall in Blackburn.
The venue, based in the centre of Blackburn, will be home to the BDO World Trophy for the next three years, starting with the 2019 event, in a deal which ensures the longevity of the event for players and supporters alike.
The historic venue, which regularly hosts a variety of events, will be lit up as 48 of the BDO’s top male and female players will be fighting it out to be crowned champion.
28 Men and 14 Ladies have already secured their places, with the play-offs for the remaining four Men’s and two Ladies' places scheduled for Thursday 29th August prior to the commencement of the live finals which start on Friday 30th August, running through to Sunday 1st September!
This celebration of our top players will be shown live on Eurosport and information about how you can come along, soak up the atmosphere and cheer on these world-class players will be released over the next few days!
Not like me to post like this and I won’t be making a habit of it,,,
I’d like to say I’m really sorry for how long things are taking, nothing can alter that but at least this is an event that I can put In a draw and leave for 18 months while I concentrate on the the next event.
The next announcement will hopefully be another 3 year deal and so on, I assure you all every effort is going into making our organisation as great as it can be, thanks to everyone that’s helps behind the scenes and thank you all for your understanding and continued support.

Travelling back in time with the BDO as usual, it's where Barney made his PL debut in 2006. Can we expect a repeat of these scenes?Fiss Plaps wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:17 pm King George's Hall in Blackburn for 3 years: http://bdodarts.com/index.php/item/3-ma ... rld-trophy
