Re: Having a bet?
Had a good few days (forecast on the National, small bet on Wigan @ 12s and a monster on Chelsea @ 9/2 last night ... apologies for the after timing) so I'm foolishly having a good bet on the darts tonight.
I make Barney odds on to beat Whitlock tonight so the OK Coral's 5/4 has to be my first & biggest bet of the night.
Taylor throws first against Mongo Jerry so was hoping to find a 7/4 minus 4.5 handicap, sadly the bookies seem to have cottoned on to the break of throw thing but the OK Coral go 10/11 minus 3.5 legs so that will do for me.
Hamilton & Wade have again been under estimated on the 180 stakes, Hammer is very good at following a high first dart and Wade rarely switches, thought the spread should set at 7.5 but Ladbrokes go evens over 6.5 or OK Coral & Bill Hill go 4/6 over 5.5. Both decent bets for me.
You never know which Gary Anderson will turn up but his maximum hitting has been virtually non-existent throughout the PL this year so I'd make Painter favourite in the 180 market, Lads go 6/4 yet Hills go a monster 9/4.
Also having a couple of bets on the most 180s on the night, Hills go 6/1 Taylor & 12/1 Hamilton.

Re: Having a bet?
Can't believe painter is only 1-0 up when he's winning the game 5-1. The tie wouldn't be a disaster for me though as I have a yankee on all 4 being ties @ 5/1 (first one was 2-2)Sprocket501 wrote:Just gone big on Wade to win.
EDIT 2-0 to painter.

Re: Having a bet?
Fat Phil's 5 180s got me out of a hole last night (6/1) so it is only sensible that I slow down for a few days ....... and bet on the snooker instead.
First round bets:
£100 Mark Davis to beat Ali Carter @ 11/8
£50 Marco Fu to beat Matthew Stevens @ 11/10
£25 David Gilbert to beat Martin Gould @ 9/4
£25 Jamie Jones to beat Shaun Murphy @ 9/2
Toyed with the idea of going for broke and having a £20 Yankee instead which I'll probably regret when all 4 hose up.

Not a well man at all from what I've been told, add to that Davis' rapid strides this year and I was very surprised to find the bookies made Carter favourite.Darth Randall wrote:with carters talk of retitrement i fancy davis to beat him handily.

Not holding out much hope for Fu but the two big prices have both landed, come on Davis.Snakehipsx2 wrote:Fat Phil's 5 180s got me out of a hole last night (6/1) so it is only sensible that I slow down for a few days ....... and bet on the snooker instead.

Re: Having a bet?
By the way lads, for my column, heres my tips over the course of the PL. I don't get a choice what game I do a write up on, and I very rarely bet on these matches.
Week 1 - Whitlock v Barneveld - Whitlock to win @ 4/5 - LOST
Week 2 - Whitlock v Wade - Whitlock to win -2.5 legs @ 6/4 - WON
Week 3 - Painter v Whitlock - Painter +2.5 legs @ 5/6 - WON
Week 4 - Wade v Painter - Painter double result 10/3 - LOST
Week 5 - Lewis v Whitlock - Draw @ 9/2 - LOST
Week 6 - Taylor v Hamilton - Taylor -4.5 legs @ evens - WON
Week 6 - Barneveld v Painter - Barneveld to win @ 7/10 - WON
Week 7 - Barneveld v Anderson - Barneveld to win @ 13/10 - WON
Week 8 - Painter v Taylor - Taylor to win -3.5 legs @ 10/11 - WON
Week 9 - Barneveld v Painter - Barneveld to hit most 180s @ 8/13 - LOST
Week 10 - Whitlock v Painter - Whitlock to hit most 180s @ 4/7 - WON
Week 11 - Painter v Anderson - Painter to win @ 5/2, Under 6.5 180s @ 5/6 - WON & WON
Week 12 - Hamilton v Barneveld - Draw @ 5/1, over 12.5 legs @ 4/5 - WON & WON
Week 13 - Hamilton v Whitlock - Hamilton +2.5 legs @ evens - WON
I have had one losing bet since week 6. I will not tip on an outcome at less than 4/7, even if it is what I think is the most likely outcome. If you had been betting a tenner on my "tips" from week one you would be up £142.30 over the course of the tournament (thus far). Never mind these shite tipsters in the Sun or Racing Post bigging up donkeys on the nags or shite football tips.
I've gone for Lewis this week to beat Whitlock at 23/20 and Lewis to hit most 180s at evens. Lewis for me is always a good bet in big games. See Wade in the WC, Taylor in PL x2. Wins games when chips are down, Heydon in WC and Painter in Matchplay. Whitlock has nothing to play for either, and last week wasn't exactly must win either and he was well beaten. I could be wrong right enough. I don't mind being wrong when there was reasoning behind my original choice.
I bet very heavily on the NFL spread betting. I will run a column on it this year, tracking my progress. I've had very profitable years on it until last season when the lock out ruined everything and I had a down year. Occasionally bet on Scottish Football lower leagues too, always plenty of value there every week, but not too heavy, can be quite dodgy.
