19 Sub 90 averages and
2 sub 80 averages from 32 so over 50% can't hit a 90 average.
The seeds haven't even entered the comp yet. But there were only 7 matches in the masters that featured a 90 plus average against another 90 plus average. This comp has seen three so far already.

Oh you must have missed the big news. Bunting switched to the PDC in 2014. And Norris did it in 2015. I thought that was common knowledge.

There'll be nothing this week that comes close to Adams/Butler.

Nothing as amusing as Adams thinking he is Jocky Wilson on cruicial doubles.

That's part of it. Missed darts at a double definitely add drama.

To be honest, I'd say the same about the Wade/King Masters final last year. Players this week will beat their averages quite comfortably, but they'll get nowhere near it for entertainment.

No I didn't miss the news. They are the BDO switchers showing the way.

I seriously doubt that the tournaments eventual winner played tonight. We shall see how far Bunting progresses.

So now you are hoping a PDC guy doesn't do well? huh?

46 out of 48 players in the tournament (and all of the last 32) are PDC guys, do you expect all of them to win it? Here I thought the point of a tournament was you eliminate people until there is only one winner. Evidently some PDC players are going to lose out, and chances are that the top 16 seeds have a greater chance to win it than those outside the top 16, as that's sort of how ranking works.

Where does this idea come from that drama and high averages are mutually exclusive?

Look at the Barney-Taylor Premier League game where Taylor missed crucial doubles and lost despite averaging over 115, in a game with a combined average of 220. Look at last week's WGP final where Van Gerwen missed crucial doubles many times yet still averaged 96 average in a double-in format (and lost).

The Euro Tour can just as much have dramatic games. The Caven-VvdV final last year comes to mind.

Yeah should get past Cullen and the winner of Dolan/Barney, but loses to MvG/King in the last 8.

No way, I expect Chizzy to win at least 500,000 by the end of the year including the WC.

this ^^^

The lowest jobbers in the event played yesterday and the overall averages of them was vastly superior to the entire masters.

one of these floor jobbers like johnny haines......a guy that can chuck a mid 90 average on a good day or be just like a county pub player.
Did beat jyhan artut yesterday, but jyhan is as inconsistent as there in the pdc
