I think Wilson is the BDO's best player now Bunting has left. But I could name 15 players in the PDC who you could reasonably argue are on his level or better.

The final (which was played over a longer format than the Premier League if I am fair) had two players averaging lower than any of the PDC players did on Thursday for the Premier League (bar Whitlock, who was ill) I like Bobby George, but I could not tell what he was saying at times. Also, there was little atmosphere. Someone I was watching with described it as like watching darts in your local town hall.

I did enjoy the Lakeside this year, at least more than previous years, and I am spoiled by the PDC's production values on SKY/ITV, but from what I viewed the World Trophy was pretty dire.

I swear the PDC were on Eurosport when they broadcast that event from Australia last year. I seem to recall the production was not as bad as it was for the BDO over the weekend. To be fair I did not watch either of those tournaments all the way through, but there was a difference in lighting and production clearly, even from a brief glance.

In addition to the faults listed by Justin Incredible above, during the final they would pan to the crowd at times and you could see a load of empty seats around the tables, and some of the seats that were full seemed to be taken by players. No wonder they lost money.

At one stage they panned to Bobby George sitting in shall we say a unflattering position (think gut hanging out) and the cameraman clearly panicked and jolted the camera into the sky, before panning back to action. The camera work was horrible, and not just on a few occasions. I watched a game early on in the tournament that had several errors in the camera work, and these errors were still happening in the final.

The final was actually quite exciting, as despite the standard not being A-1, it was very close. But the production was pretty horrible
