Re: snooker thread
That would interest me a lot more than Ronnie and Trump exchanging big breaks.
I really enjoyed Dott's final with Ebdon in 2006. An epic tactical battle.

Re: snooker thread
Different strokes.
What's the difference between Ebdon and the likes of Griffiths, Thorburn and Charlton from the glory days?
I enjoyed those finals because it was a real war of attrition. Both players were exhausted after 17 days of grinding and were trying to win the world title by any means they could.

Didn't like watching any of them 3 in the "glory" days either.jrwfsl147 wrote:Different strokes.

I've blanked the Ebdon one from my mind, remember how painful Robertsons win was though.

The last I looked it was 7-4 to Ronnie so he's lost 6 frames on the bounce, didn't see that coming tbh.Darth Randall wrote:10-7 trump

Re: snooker thread
Final ranking event before the Crucible currently taking place in China.
After this event, the Top 15 in the rankings (plus Carter) will qualify as of right. EVERYONE else gets thrown in at the first round of qualifying!
As it stands:
1 Selby
2 O'Sullivan
3 Robertson
4 Ding
5 Hawking
6 Trump
7 Walden
8 Murphy
9 Perry
10 Bingham
11 Fu
12 Allen
(13 Carter)
14 Higgins
15 Williams
16 Maguire
Michael White and Robert Milkins could pinch the final spot yet (both play each other in China next match so one will be out the running by the end of today). Selby is only seed #1 as defending champion but a couple more wins in China will put him #1 seed as of right in the rankings anyway.
£10 to go and watch the qualifiers and that gets you three sessions worth of snooker, a bargain.

Who in the blue fuck is Hawking?
Concur with the qualies bit, a bargain.
Looking at it, the 4/13, 5/12 quarter is by far the weakest. Ding's form is absolutely rotten.

Re: snooker thread
Ding could yet jump upto seed #3, he is still involved over in China. A win today and another in the quarters would do it.jrwfsl147 wrote:Who in the blue fuck is Hawking?

Re: snooker thread
Beating Willo 3-2 as we speak.
Carter's the biggest turkey in the 16. The 14-16 seeds will all be tough, assuming big Milkins doesn't win the China Open to pip Stevie Mags.
Crucible (inc. qualifying) is my favourite betting event of all sports.

Re: snooker thread
Aye, Mark Williams (15th seed) seems to be in very good form, form since the Welsh in ranking events: semi final, runner up, semi final, quarter final, runner up. Tough second round match for Ronnie as it stands.jrwfsl147 wrote:Beating Willo 3-2 as we speak.

Re: snooker thread
Have a sneaking suspicion this is the year Ronnie gets dumped out before the one table set-up.
He looks slightly off for my money, and if he is he'll get fed up and lose.

World Championship Draw

Off to see this on Thursday, seems that most will probably be watching the lady vs Ken Doherty that day.
The final sessions of the 16 final matches will all be played on the same day, next Wednesday. May go next Wednesday evening too.

Re: snooker thread
Just Steve Davis, at a guess. All other WC's in the draw have a world ranking that gets them into the event still.Darth Randall wrote:How many ex world champs took the exemption?
