Probably figuring out how to get the non-TC holders that they want in, per rule 1.01.

Judging by the Prize money release I would suggest this year stays the same as part of the old tv deal and next year is when we get the change.

Agree that it'll stay at 32 but Porter said in an interview with Barrs after the Masters that the Grand Slam will look 'noticeably different' this year.

Unless that was bullshit and next year is the only change.

I'm sure Barrs would have picked up on it and asked him pressing questions.

If they keep it at 32, they'll have to reduce the number of qualifiers or the special invites.
Top 16 + 8 special invites + Nathan Aspinall only leaves 7 spots.

Aspinall will get in anyway this time by the old system as he's won a Euro Tour

Not certain. Under 2024 rules, using the Grand Prix race as a proxy, Aspinall is currently 9th for the Grand Slam, because (using the Grand Prix race as a proxy) he's behind Bunting and Schindler on the OOM.

There are still 5 Premier events (including the World Cup) and 9 ETs to go.

Very true

So what it would take would be-

Aspinall to not reach a final or win anything else until November

PLUS

A combination of seven players reaching a tv final/winning a Euro Tour from-

The floor winners- Cross, Heta, Dobey, Price, Rock, Anderson and Searle.

Or

Someone else not already qualified to reach a final/win an ET- NOT Humphries, Littler, MVG, Bunting, Clayton, Wade, Schindler, Van Veen or Lukeman.

One of these could be- Chizzy, Wright, Noppert, Both Smiths, De Decker, the list goes on.

Conclusion- I suspect Price, Rock, Cross and Anderson will all find a way in. Not sure any of the others are tv finalists on form but the likes of Chizzy, Wright and Dobey are definitely possible ET winners at some point with 9 events left based on previous evidence/stage experience.

As the Slam will be further bastardised again they might as well do 16 floor qualifiers.

There is really no event untouched by their madness.
