This channel makes me laugh sometimes: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC92zCM ... SeQ/videos

I'm truly stunned that the Hoenselaar vs Solomons game from the 2001 women's world championship hasn't gone viral.

No, because it's such a high-quality, thrilling and memorable event between two household names. :D

An idea from a Fanatic - County Prmeier League Darts!
We need premier league type thing of county teams. New county format. Shorter format. So people in the county can support that team. Bit like football teams etc. Be on tv sports channel. All under the bdo promoting county games. Plenty of pub players out there might take an interest. I love the bdo. But you have to admit what a bit of expert promotion has done in the pdc. Could have players transfers etc just like the football teams. Well something like that. Each team could have its own name. Well something like that. Then the betting on teams could come into it. Well someone should come up with something or poeti similar. Darts is big business. Still one of the cheapest sports to play or all ages and gender playing against each other. Its superb.

Is there any sport out there which is conceptionally a personal effort or head-to-head thing, but which also has a thriving team version? I genuinely can't think of one.

The Ryder Cup (golf) is the only thing that comes close.

Infrequent special events don't really count as thriving in my book. Relative to the size of the whole sport I'd say the Ryder Cup isn't all that much more important than the PDC's World Cup. (And the handful of knockoffs - Presidents, Solheim, etc. - are well behind.)

Tennis' Davis Cup only seems to be important in this country when we're in the final, otherwise no-one cares.

How many different variations of team snooker have been tried and failed?

Darts is an individual sport at the top level. Nothing is going to change that because the public see it that way, and TV stations think that way. Didn't a channel show a county match once and didn't show another? (I love how many Fanatic ideas think TV companies will just show any old crap because they ask them to.)
