I dread to even think

They are struggling to get the blood on a Saturday afternoon apparently

A transfusion isn't an option apparently as it needs to be fresh blood and there isn't a suitable donor available

The steroids will bring her levels up just a lot slower apparently.
Blood from the blood bank the platelet levels would be degraded to the point they wouldn't help

Dropped her off at the emergency vets
They start talking about transfusions despite the last vet telling me it was pointless!
I'd have to go to the blood bank myself

She is stable but very poorly until the steroids start kicking in.
Blood in her saliva and pee now as well
Doing an ultrasound today to check for tumours

Literally dreading the phone ringing at this stage

No blood around her organs or in cavities which is good
Small nodule on her spleen that they may want do a biopsy on when she is stronger but for now it's just containing to wait for the steroids to do their job.

Alsatians blood sugar is high again so started her back on the insulin.
Not waiting to ask the vet

The vet "forgot" to call me

2 days on her levels are still catastrophically low
Has to stay there

They are now both at the vets hospital

Now costing £300 a day bed and board
