So there was more than one TV event a year? The rebels 'ruined' the game for nothing!PT13 wrote:Martin Fitzmaurice or the logo? The World Masters was on Sky Sports for 2 years (1991-1992), won by Rod Harrington and Dennis Priestley.

Had to understand.PT13 wrote:Olly Croft was in business with Sky Sports in 1991 and 1992, so this does add interesting questions as to why the split happened regardless. Clearly, Sky were interested in darts TV coverage, and the people who later worked for the WDC/PDC had originally approached Olly Croft and the BDO. The WDC themselves initially wanted to create new darts TV events and then give them to the BDO to run. The WDC even wanted Olly Croft with them.
What was really going on? I think Croft felt that he owned darts, as a possession and family heirloom, and nobody else was going to decide where darts should go but him.
Croft would rather TV darts died altogether with him at the helm than relinquish any control and watch it flourish. Very sad. Thank fuck for the 14 brave souls and Uncle Baz after them.PT13 wrote:Olly Croft was in business with Sky Sports in 1991 and 1992, so this does add interesting questions as to why the split happened regardless. It's the Sky Sports logo that completes the look. Here's what you could have won.PT13 wrote:Martin Fitzmaurice or the logo? The World Masters was on Sky Sports for 2 years (1991-1992), won by Rod Harrington and Dennis Priestley.
