I said waaaaay back in July, this season was a rebuilding job, and anything trophy wise would be a bonus.

The team will still need at least one more season of tinkering before it's well knit and they have gelled enough to be properly judged against great Utd teams.

I hope so mate, can't see any other team apart from united getting close to Barca. It would be a fitting end to Fergies career to have success against Barca on the big stage especially if they contain messi, xavi and iniesta

Who are they gonna buy that even gets close to the talent of Barcas 3?, the big name players have all been gobbled up. Modric is surely a must and I'd be taking a good look at Sandro as well.

Berbatov is no great loss imo, pace and stamina are surely the key assets

Sneijder has been a target for months, Ashley young should have been bought in January, there is a centre half coming in as well as a keeper, one more combative midfielder is a target and anything else will be related to departures.

Correct me if I'm wrong knotts but I though you didn't want/rate Ashley young?

That line up doesn't convince me thaat United will be challenging Barcas reign anytime soon. Time will tell.

Hmm. I have always grudgingly acknowledged success by other clubs, but if people choose to openly celebrate a club from the continent winning a trophy against a British team, then that's their choice.

Not really, half time is only half the story. Only an idiot would celebrate before the game was over.
