Checked. The first Worlds game I can swear to having watched in full is... Graeme Stoddart v Gayl King. I almost certainly watched the game before it too, at the top of that afternoon session: Paul Lim v Dan Lauby Original.

But the actual answer, most likely, is the opening game of the tournament on the previous afternoon: Dave Askew v Mick Manning. Thank you.

Impressive. Have you read Sid's 'Bellies and Bullseyes'? There's a great bit in that about the launch.

Vaguely remember 82 Jocky winning but the one that sticks is Deller 83, and there's been enough column inches covering that final. But overall a good finals with Jocky missing the 9 on T15.
