Just for you Jimmi, here is his first ever tv appearance and I think it’s fair to say he must of had fashion tips off Bobby George.

Re: Hankey (2000) v Durrant (2019 who wins
I'm fairly certain that if you pitted the 1999-2001 version of Hankey against the BDO fields of the mid-to-late 2010s, then Ted would have had just as much if not more success than Duzza had.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:17 am Granted Duzza has won in a lesser field, but Ted never won a masters or any other BDO major. Duzza also has his PL win and a very good first two years on the PDC circuit.
I think if Ted switches in 2001 he possibly has a good career in the PDC.
I don't really rate Duzza's PL win because the standard on finals night was so low.

But Hankey isn’t as professional as Duzza. Might of struggled on the PDC circuit. More talented than Duzza, but Durrant is a lot more professional. Better temperament.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:17 amGranted Duzza has won in a lesser field, but Ted never won a masters or any other BDO major. Duzza won 1 more BDO Championship than Ted, but did so while competing against weaker fields than Ted did in the early 2000s.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:49 am Duzza has had the better career and been far more consistent, but I think Ted of 2000 beats Duzza of 2019 in a close game.
Don't forget that Hankey made the final of the 2001 BDO Worlds where he lost to Walton. By contrast, Duzza in 2018 only just scraped over the line against McGeeney. Duzza averaged less in the 2018 final than both Walton and Hankey did in the 2001 final, despite playing on a better board.
Had Hankey played a McGeeney level player in 2001, and had Duzza faced a player of Walton's standard in 2018, then Ted would probably now hold more BDO titles than Duzza.
I think if Ted switches in 2001 he possibly has a good career in the PDC.

I’m not disputing your first paragraph in fact I’d agree. I’d add that imo Ted underachieved with the talent he had.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 2:38 pmI'm fairly certain that if you pitted the 1999-2001 version of Hankey against the BDO fields of the mid-to-late 2010s, then Ted would have had just as much if not more success than Duzza had.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:17 am Granted Duzza has won in a lesser field, but Ted never won a masters or any other BDO major. As for the second paragraph. We could go around in circles on this. The reasons his win has to be admired.
1) He topped the league ( he was top before lockdown as well)
2) Despite the finals night being of a poor quality, he was still the best of the 4
3) I think it’s fair to say a big title was coming for Duzza, I don’t think he was an out of the blue winner such as DVDB and to a lesser extent De Sousa.

I'd suggest that his temperament was what won him the Premier League last year. Held himself together far better than three PDC major winners on a night where no one had anywhere near their A game. Someone with an awful temperament like Smith could never have managed that.

When he is confident and playing well is one thing and he has certainly hit plenty of clutch doubles
He got over the line in the pl but he needed plenty of help.
When it's going badly he gives off more distress signals than the titanic and his media reflects that
The constant self deprecation is an attempt to take the pressure off himself.
Clearly he isnt in Smith's league of arse prolapaes.
