Be good if some more of the older English folks that lose cards gave it a go though. They all seem to just focus on modus and seniors sadly.
Team Corvid 2025 consists of the following 12 players.
Clayton, Littler, Gilding, De Sousa, Wright, Evans, Campbell, Scutt, Lauby, Rob Owen, Patrick Geeraets and Justin Hood.

WDF is always preferred to ADC I don't care!

More of the better English players. Indeed those that drop out. King would be a nice recognisable face for Lakeside. Both he and Beaton aree qualified for the World Masters, would be great if they play the qualifiers aswell.

Yes, a lot of the better English players don't bother much with the WDF.The Crow wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 9:14 pmDisagree on them being better. They had 11 of the 48 places last year so almost a quarter.willem0000 wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 8:53 am Still good that he goes though, Lakey needs all the attention it can get.
Lakey could use some more English players in general, they are still better than much of the other players and usually bring in more friends/family. But now they just focus on DT, CT and maybe ADC. England needs some more tournaments perhaps to lure them in. Just one Englishman in the top 10 of the WDF ranking, 6 in the CT, 7 in DT (Beau in both CT and DT).
Only 2 made the last 16 and none made the quarters. Think it’s good the WDF can be more international than the old BDO Lakey days were.
CT, ADC and Modus are readily available.
A few will play some Gold WDF on the off-chance.
The English contingent were:
Beeton (L32 Junghans)
Brooks (L48 Matsuda)
Colley (L32 Duff)
Edgar (L48 Bottenberg)
Johnson (L48 Colley)
Kirk (Bradley) (L48 Beeton)
Prior (L16 Machin)
Turner (Aaron) (L32 Copeland)
Turner (Martyn) (L32 Raman)
Walters (L32 Prior)
Wilkinson (L16 Junghans)
How many of those would be on anybody's "Top 11 English darts players without a Tour Card" list?

WIlkinson at a push.
Other than that, yes, it's a grim showing. Only 3 of them are playing CT this year (Colley, Beeton, Walters), and none of them are in the top 100.

Including the Welsh tournaments they have 6 silvers in England, but I believe at least some collided with other tournaments. Isle of Man isnt far away and there is a 5K prize so, it isnt all that bad for the English. But seemingly there is just to much competition. British Open meant to be gold, but collided with other tournament so they made it silver, I believe it has a new date again but it is still silver I believe. Its not good that in the most darty country the WDF is declining. Perhaps it need another 2 bronze or so, to pamper them.

Agree I couldn’t give a shit about the ADC champ thing. It just comes across as a modus nothing bigger.

WDF does need Lakeside though, without it they would probably crumble into pieces. The WDF lad sounded postive about a new contract, but I wonder if the ADC is trying to sneak in. Wouldnt be suprised if they would and then stream it on Modus. But on the other hand Modus now propably pay them around amount of money they pay otherwise for 3 weeks of regular prize money, which then probably go to 1 week. Modus probably gets new people towards their channel so that might be an incentive for them. The longer we dont hear news about a new contract the bigger the chance it will go to Modus I think.

Correct - It does but at the moment the UK cardless players are going down that route rather than the WDF

Can't see ADC going to lakeside, They are lucky that Modus exists and the Live Lounge exists too, ADC would have been up against it without itwillem0000 wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 6:37 am WDF does need Lakeside though, without it they would probably crumble into pieces. Modus Super Series will not leave its venue for a good while so it gives the ADC a chance to host events.

Re: Road to Lakeside - 2025 WDF World Championships (Fri 28 November - Sun 7 December)
Yeah I believe the ADC cancelled their first big events, and only when the Modus came it was succesfull. But to become the main tour outside the PDC I think it needs the Lakeside, not just for getting the Lakeside and establishing themselves, but also getting their main competitor out of it. Think the English/Brits will be a big chunk of the players with the ADC, and they might bring in more friends/family than those coming from far away, so Lakeside might make more on hotel/drinks with the ADC than WDF, so they might be on board. WDF lowering the prize money for 2 years is also not a good sign for the Potters, and potential a lot less visitors neither. Modus might see it as a way to get the people to Pluto/YT. Probably a lot didnt bother before to download Pluto, but might do it nowoche balboa wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 8:27 amCan't see ADC going to lakeside, They are lucky that Modus exists and the Live Lounge exists too, ADC would have been up against it without itwillem0000 wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 6:37 am WDF does need Lakeside though, without it they would probably crumble into pieces. ADC then MAD came into this in 2020 with big backing and announced a World Championship and other events, it failed so its a good job Modus was around .willem0000 wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 9:02 amYeah I believe the ADC cancelled their first big events, and only when the Modus came it was succesfull. WDF doesn't seem attractive to a lot of UK players anymore for some reason if you look at who played in this weeks Winmau events lots of them don't bother with WDF events.
There are no signs the WDF will lower the prize money or will increase it (I think it will stay the same). But its quite funny that the British WDF events carry more winning prize money than the ADC Winmau Events.
I've watched less and less of Modus since it went to pluto. When it was on YouTube i watched a large chunk of the day quite often, It hasn't worked

8 silvers still to come should change that a bit, but they might still lose a few to the PDC or Modus
