A genuine 50+ darts tour based on pure merit would be actually meaningful but would no doubt fail miserably so there it is.

it is to some degree happening but its hindered by Adams, Taylor, Deller not actually on tour. I mean Glen Durrant has only played 2 events all year a ADC vault which he won & the Seniors World Championship

I don't like the idea. Most of it would be Clark like jobbers no one actually cares about. They have plenty of opportunities and orgs to play apart from Seniors

Taylor and Gates and co won't be slugging it out at the floor events. You could have TV events with a couple dozen people in the audience so what's the point. Even following it on Dartconnect seems like too much effort for this

Gates has played some tour events. I think what the WSDT are doing is good. Players are getting ample chances and players with "Lesser" careers have appeared on TV. Richie Howson, Dennis Harbour etc

Difficult to disagree.

The draw of the Seniors TV events are the names.

Do exhibitions carry extra prize money for the winner if there’s a mini tournament being played or does everyone just get paid a set amount no matter how well they play?

I would guess the money is already sorted beforehand

There's an OOM and everything.

It's the TV events where the exhibition element comes in and there's a lot of invitees because that what gets brings the money in.

The people running it seem to have it figured out right. It starts with nostalgia, and gradually builds up its own stories. There are players in the Seniors who weren't really big names, just players known to darts fans and now they're staples of the Seniors TV tournaments.

That can easily be on the modus stage and have it called "Seniors Players Championship" over a weekend.

Winner gets a direct invite into the Modus Super Series and the Seniors World Championship.

Exactly. Howson is a prime example of that.
