Unorthodox ways of checking out
Anyone got ways of checking out that are different to ways the pros check out?
Only one for me is 66, which I attempted the for the first time t'other day. Rather than going T10 D18 or bull D8 (never understood that one), I went T14 D12. I'm surprised you don't get many players going that way, doesn't require an awful lot of moving around the board, and a single leaves a pretty decent leave in 52.

as i said over 'there'
48 = 2x D12.
to be honest i never thought of going 66 that way and i love D12. woopsy.
dunno if its unorthodox, but on 122 i like to go the bull route.
25, T19, tops or bull, T16, D12

61 (t7 tops or 7, 18, d18)
62 (t14 d10, 14 leaves 48 so 8or16 next, more often than not ends up 11,11 tops though)
63 (t17 d6, 17 leaves 46 so 6 or 10 next)
65 (t19 d4, 19 " " " " " " " )
66 (t14 d12 see OP)
67 (t9 tops, 9, 18 tops)
69 (t15 d12, or 15, 18 d18)
Another one for me is 62. T18 d4/s18 s4 tops.

I go a similar route on 126. Bull t16 d 14. Or 25 t17 bull. Although the first time I did that, I hit t17 first when going for 19sDrZoidberg wrote:as i said over 'there'

D12 d12 on 48 was a game shout from the much missed doc z
Perversely on 50 I did use to go d14 d11 just because they are next to each other and i liked them
Not that it made any sense.

62 T14 D10 and not because I want to leave double 10 but because when I leave 48 I can hit both 8 and 16 - and double 8, double 16 and treble 8.
Hitting T11 leaves 29 - 17 D6 so you can miss in the 3.
Hitting T9 leave 35 - 19 D8 so you can miss both in the 7 and 3 and still leave an even double.

I use that route on 62 too, an useless player like me I won't hit the treble anyway.

Re: Unorthodox ways of checking out
Most routes from 61-70 are different for beginners. It should be based on having two numbers next to each other to aim at if you hit the big number with your first dart instead of the treble, so 8-16, 6-10, 18-4 even, or the amazing 7-19-3-17 combo.
That gets this:
61 - T15 D8 since 46 leaves the 6-10 bed. T11-D14 can also be considered, not only because you can just go at the bull if you hit an 11 since you're more likely to hit 10/12/14/16/18/20 as a n00b, but 14 leaves 47 -> 7-19 bed.
63 - T9 D18 since 54 is 18-4. Yes perhaps you don't think you'll hit the bull but it's best to guarantee a shot. 12 and 14 are also good misses.
64 - T16 D8 -> 48= 8-16.
65 - T19 D4 -> 46= 6-10. T15 D10 for a BULL shot again an option.
66 - T18 D6 is not ideal here for if you miss the 18 you have a shot at bull at best. T10 is therefore better but then you need to not miss a big number with dart two... choices.
67 - T13 D14 not only because beginners are usually better at throwing straight than height but 54= 18-4. However same story as with T18 D6.
68 - T20 D4 -> 48= 8-16 but same thing with don't miss the 20.
69 - T15 D12 -> 54= 18-4. You can also miss in the 10 and still have 19 for TOPS.
70 - I go bullseye D10 here but basically because I either hit bullseye or 25 after which I can go to a double (yes at 45 I go 7-19 to guarantee a shot) or I have some sort of marker to go back to bullseye.
