Being picked for Wiltshire cricket u18s when I was 15 has to be up there !!!!
Batsman or bowler?
Bowler but knew how to bat too :D
I was a fast bowler but as I got lazy I began keeping wicket.
Goalkeeper as well.
So really just stood shouting at people
Fast bowler in my youth but soon discovered various distractions during my teenage years. Was nothing more than a slow trundler when I retired.

It seems there are some cricketers amongst us. At 15 I was offered a trial for Derbyshire youth. I was a fast bowler, but I got my nose broken in the nets ( and had a concussion and ended up in hospital)and it put me off playing cricket for a long time. Which is bizarre as a couple of years later I started to do boxing training but gave that up as I was too vain to get my face smashed to pieces. 😂Despite me having a more defensive style. I wish I had kept both up, although I did play cricket for a local team years later.

Swindon, born and bred, yeah I know, I know
It can’t be helped 😀
There’s an ex Wednesday ( and Swindon) player Phil King he used to own a pub called the Dolphin. I wonder if he still owns it.
I had a very eventful night out in Swindon. It was the night before Sheff Wed beat Hartlepool in the 2005 league 1 play off final in Cardiff. The night before a coach load of us stayed in Swindon. All I will say is the night was memorable 😉

I have very little recollection of what the boozer was like. After we went there some of us had a meal in a Chinese restaurant which I think wasn’t too far away. Then a few ended up in the middle of Swindon what I assume was the main drag of bars.
