Peter Wright is definitely not past James Wade yet. When he's number one after the 2021 Worlds I'll change my mind.

I also disagreed with what Bill said, but I stand by my claim that if Wade were to get 2 world titles, due to titles won he goes above Anderson without any argument.Randall wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 9:03 amI quoted bill and you replied in the 1st person about it so I figured it was you.

As I’ve said earlier, no other poll anywhere would have Wright above Wade at this current time.

Re: The darts forum definitive all time top 20 -12th place poll
Wright's one PDC World title (and beating MVG in the final) = More than anything Wade has won.
Wade's Major finals wins and his opponents:
UK Open: Gary Mawson (who?)
Wes Newton
Matchplay:
Terry Jenkins (notorious bottler)
Grand Prix:
Terry Jenkins
Adrian Lewis.
Lewis is the only one he's played who is actually a major winner.
And for those being pedantic about his Premier League win.
He beat Mervyn King in the final.
People are more likely to remember Wright being World Champion than Wade winning any of those other majors.
Having said that, I'd have Cross above Wright anyway.

I’m not wrong though am I. Let’s Say Wade gets 2 world titles he would have to go after Anderson due to him winning more.![]()
It's never going to happen
Never made final at the worlds and generally has an horrendous record there

Has to be Cross.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 8:49 am With Wright and Wade seemingly taking 12th and 13th places respectively, it will be interesting to see who takes 14th place.
There is no obvious front-runner at the moment.

I would add Rees and Alan Evans as well probably to the poll at this point.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

It's fair to have Wright above Cross, he wins on almost every metric, longevity, consistency at the top, absolute peak, etc.
If Cross followed his form off a cliff tomorrow then you could argue he'd barely done anything more than Deller. The single world champs are slim pickings as it turns out.
As for this I went with Wade but Wright's probably a few months away from eclipsing him.

What about Cross winning the Matchplay? I honestly believe if Wade has beaten Wright at the weekend his poll wouldn’t even be close.Potter's Lake wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 11:02 am It's fair to have Wright above Cross, he wins on almost every metric, longevity, consistency at the top, absolute peak, etc.

A bit like when Wade took care of Lewis and Taylor ( with big averages) in the 2014 Masters before going onto win against King.Randall wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 11:38 amA real major?HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 10:58 amNever say never Randall.Randall wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 10:45 amYou keep saying if he gets 2 world titlesHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 9:07 amI also disagreed with what Bill said, but I stand by my claim that if Wade were to get 2 world titles, due to titles won he goes above Anderson without any argument.

Wade was brilliant in that event except in the final which King somehow managed to lose.

The PDC do and so do the players and it counts towards players totals. Granted it is arguably the ‘major’ with the lowest prestige.Randall wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:03 pmIt has and nobody thinks a 2 day invitational exbo is a major.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:01 pmIn your eyes it might be.
