Fair play to him, as has been said only need to beat what's in front of you. The 113 finish in the semi and the 127 in the final are what make him one of if not the best in pressure moments, the doubt for me has been his ability to get to those moments at the business end of big events but he had a helping hand in that regard tonight.

WTF was Anderson playing at going with those darts and sticking with them. And Aspinall clearly thought he had it won after beating Wright given how Durrant played in the semi.

What would make him not “overrated” in your opinion”

If people didn't rate him so highly, perhaps.

- The BDO fields he beat to win his 3 "world championships" were piss-poor. No amount of revisionism or wishful thinking can change that.

- He prevailed in the playoffs tonight with an overall average of 89. The lowest of any PL winner on finals night.

- In terms of ranking money won over the past year, he is only ranked 9th.

Yet, some rate him as 4th or 5th best in the world. Even if he is in the world's top 5, it says more about the declining quality of the PDC's top-end over the past few years than his ability as a player. Again, if MVG (2012-2018) or Taylor (1998-2012) had been in this year's PL, then he would not have had a sniff of winning it. Heck, if Anderson had played something like in the semi-finals he would not have won either.

I can’t remember so much scrutiny of a player switching codes and he has proved successful. If he was languishing at number 53 on the oom then fair enough. He has proved in the big events on several occasions that he can compete with the best and seems to be a bogey player for MVG.

That was a semi final, not a final. Duzza has mental strength in abundance, with Smith he needs to improve the mental side if he is ever going to get over the line.
The 91 average was good enough to win him this final. His next game he could average 100 yet lose.

Tonight, Duzza threw for the match in the semi-final, yet allowed his opponent 2 match darts. In the final, he missed multiple match darts before finally checking out.

A 91 average is easily beatable, even for a bottler like Smith.
