A nothing tournament really, but it must hurt Duzza, beating MvG only to lose to bloody James Wade in the Year of Our Lord 2020
Duzza is carving himself a rather appealing role where he constantly bins Mighty Mike then falls down a well.
Wade always needed someone beat Taylor for him.....
Didn’t Wade beat Taylor in the semis on the way to one of his major/tv titles?
Doesn’t matter who he beat in the final, he still got over the line and only two players have proved to better than him in the PDC for doing that.
Not in a real major as I recall
Beat him in the semi in Blackpool one year but lost the final
Wade beat Taylor in the semi-finals of the 2014 PDC Masters -

True.
He did beat Taylor in the 2014 Grand Prix (which is a major). He lost to MVG in the final.

Well, I mean. Taylor often wasn't good enough to get far enough to lose to Wade in your 'proper majors'.

It's not a major and there's zero argument about that. You can sell me the smaller ranking events as majors but not this pointless exbo.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Smith is a disgrace I hate the way he thinks everything comes to him. No mate you have to work for it.
However I have no ambition to see Wade v Dross tonight
He has dragged himself out of bed for this, mate. You should be grateful.
Them 3 darts at 4 there I knew before he even threw them they weren't going in his body language is unbelievable

The PDC classify loads of competitions as "premier" events.
But:
Professional darts have five “majors," which are:
The Ladbrokes.com World Championships
McCoy’s Premier League Darts
Speedy Hire UK Open
Skybet World Matchplay
Partypoker.com World Grand Prix

It doesn't matter how much Smith practices he won't get rid of his double trouble and lapses of concentration in his club, it's in his DNA, shame as he has all the talent in the world too

Let him out of your pocket Glen, you deviant.
Lol
Be interesting to see if MvG has the mental strength to turn this around.
Taylor initially struggled with likes of Chisnall. He also initially had problems with guys like Klassen, Painter, Webster, Whitlock and Anderson all of whom beat him the first time they played, also gave him some really tough matches in their early encounters. However Taylor not only overcame that but he ended up destroying most of them over a period of 4 or 5 years and had them in his back pocket.
Even RvB who had some really good successes against Taylor for a 12 month period between June 2006 and June 2007, ended up becoming a mental wreck after Taylor smashed him over and over again from 2008-2013.
Let's see what the green machine is made of over the next year or so.
How much is the charge of dsrts to blame do you think?
Too much of a coincidence?
he did lose a bit of form before the dart change, where he was definitely poorer on his doubles and set up play, but his scoring was still there, as was his ability to be unplayable for 4 or 5 legs on the spin. He seems to have lost that, whether it is in his head, or whether it is the darts, or a combo of both, I don't know, but he seems to be on edge for most of the games he has played recently, so his confidence is shot to bits...
he could definitely lose his number 1 spot after the worlds, which will hurt him.
His scoring has gone
1st 9 was below 100 last night
Cant hit a double under pressure
Two bad traits!
To be honest I think his game has been declining ever since start of 2018 albeit initially it wasn't too noticeable. If you look at consistency especially in the majors he has been nowhere near the level he was from 2015-2017. Yes he did have spells in 2018 and 2019 where he was still playing near top of game, but they were becoming patchier.
The big decline has really been in last 9-10 months and it is much more noticeable now that we can see his confidence/arrogance is nowhere near as high. Last night being classic example, as soon as he saw Glen wasn't folding it was MvG that hit the panic button and his game dropped.
