Phil Taylor
Barney
John Part
Stefan Lord
Wayne Mardle
Rod Harrington
Paul Lim
Stefan lord?
Why?
Wasn’t Stefan Lord the first player from outside the U.K. that achieved something in the game. He won two news of the world titles which was a big deal back in the day.
What if he was?
Best of 3 25 years ago is hardly a reason to jettison an unknown into the limelight.
It’s about time people remembered him again. I don’t know how old you are, but I bet you remember Stefan Lord 😀
I was only a Young un back in the early 80s but I remember the name, so I assume any darts fan of a similar age would remember him? So not exactly an unknown 😉

I wouldn't mind that actually.

But fuck bringing RVB back.
I’m serious about the idea. As a fan I’d rather see some of the old boys/characters in as a one off next year.
Imagine the shenanigans for Price v Hankey
In a shorter format there’s more chance of an upset as well.
ffs another stupid idea.
Why is it that everyone wants to fix something that isn't broke.
Why is it stupid? It’s just an idea. I think a lot of darts fans would like to see some of the older players back. Maybe invite the BDO world champ as one?

No one gives a fuck about the old timers. Other than Filth you would be lucky to get a decent standard out of any of them. Pitting them against each other is like having the women play each other. Result they just drag each other down. PL is about high quality that is a factor in generating viewing and excitement. Proof league of legends.

BDO is dead so just fuck off with that.

A Nobody is a bit of a harsh description.
I actually wonder how famous he was in Sweden back in the day? I don’t imagine he would be getting the same newspaper column inches as Bjorn Borg. 😀

I wouldn’t know as I don’t live in Sweden. Whilst I accept he probably isn’t spoken about today. How would you know the reaction in Sweden to him winning both his NOTW titles? Granted I doubt it was the headline news in Sweden but the novelty of a Swedish dart player winning a big title ( twice) might have made some murmurs.
