Newbie here (please be gentle)

Post by Ashley_E1983 » Sat Apr 25, 2020 12:29 pm

Hi,

I bought a dart board a week ago for my home pub as I make my own beer.

I haven't ever played before apart from a couple of drunken throws in a pub over the years. The board I purchased is a harrows board with cabinet. The darts that came with it were absolute garbage so yesterday I received my Red Dragon 90% tungsten Javelin Black 24g darts. They have really improved my accuracy but I'm still awful.

The biggest question i have is: I've been playing for a week now. Why am I not at professional level yet?

Darts is hard.

You'd probably still be alright in the BDO

Alternatively, you could just concentrate on being a plank.

Welcome to the forum

The darts don't improve your accuracy, practice does. You'll get a lot better, especially in the early stages.

I bought a couple of sets of tungsten darts. I bought 2 sets of red dragon darts. 1 was called Javelin Black and I forget the name of the others. I love the javelins and they were only £17.

How are you getting on?
