My impression of Uncle Des was and is he's way out of his depth and completely delusional to the point of believing his own bullshit. The speed of his resignation and filing with Companies House implies his thought process is being no longer there he's not liable. We all know that's not the case and it's no coincidence these accounts were prepared to the date of his resignation.
There's a lot to be played out here

I think he doesn't want to deal with the fallout and is quite happy to leave that to Frank Branscombe. I'm sure he knows he can be held responsible for some of the actions of the BDO but wants to do as little actual 'work' as possible.M H wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:27 pm My impression of Uncle Des was and is he's way out of his depth and completely delusional to the point of believing his own bullshit. No doubt it's either a lawyer or insolvency practitioner, whoever it is has so far advised him wellThe Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:23 pm I assume that is who he is taking advice from, he mentions so in the covering letter.

With minimal wages costs all that would be possible is a supported bank loan. No bank would agree a loan as it would only be 80% guaranteed and the BDO have no product to generate the cash to meet the repayments

Re: The BDO Appreciation Society - Sponsored by Zeyes
Nothing has been mentioned in the loan scheme about security so my assumption is that 80% is secured by the government and the remaining 20% is at risk. This is why in my opinion many firms will not get the loan should they apply and those that do will be paying an interest rate of 12%.Randall wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 6:38 pmAnd they dont have a director now too attach it to anyway
Not a hope in hell the BDO will be bailed out

Some banks are trying to require the loans be secured by directors I'm sure I read.M H wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 6:53 pmNothing has been mentioned in the loan scheme about security so my assumption is that 80% is secured by the government and the remaining 20% is at risk. I see the government has done this:
"Mr Sharma said the government was going to suspend those rules temporarily - backdated to 1 March.
So if your business is struggling because of the coronavirus outbreak, you won't be held liable for keeping it trading during that period."
Far too late here though.

i haven't seen that but wouldn't be surprised. Just another hurdle should the sole BDO director want to keep it going.

Asking a bunch of decrepit old county officials to use technology can only go fantastically well...Rogg wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 2:22 pmhttp://bdodarts.com/index.php/item/3-ma ... do-meetingWe are currently making arrangements for a virtual meeting of all counties to take place online on Saturday 18th April 2020.

Re: The BDO Appreciation Society - Sponsored by Zeyes
Trotter01 posted this on TSOD. It's a transcript of two posts that Des made on Facebook:
NO ONE. Will step in with any money , I have approached over 150 of the top sponsorship companies know for giving sponsorship as well as many of my own contacts , I received quite a lot of the usual replies suck as “ our sponsorship fund has already been allotted this year”, but many refused because of all the crap and debates about the BDO on social media. I thought at one point we were going to lose the O2 last year November when I received a telephone call from one of their most senior managers asking what the hell was going on and they were not sure they wanted to be involved with us because they could not believe the deliberate stories that were being made up by people on here on the forums. I had a similar conversation with Eurosport as they too was rethinking their association with the BDO , the biggest shock tho was when the HSBC liaison officer called me to tell me that after having a meeting in house they were changing the BDO terms due to what they had read on a Facebook fanatics site , ALL THAT IS 100% TRUE !
.....................................................................................................................
Anyways, after getting 17 death treats over Xmas and New Years (that was when I 100% made my mind up to resign as Chairman and I informed all 3 of the other directors) and feeling like I’d given my best and got nothing but hassle and crap for it, oh and a few people telling me if i needed their help just ask and when I did ask NO ONE HELPED ! I made a decision not to get involved in the drama on Facebook because of the way it makes me feel.
I’ve already replied to some people on here and I’m getting that same feeling in the pit of my stomach that I haven’t had since the day I resigned.
Apart from a few friends that I have made in darts I can’t think of many people that deserve or are worth my time (that guts me in itself because I’m a giver and always have been) but there you are.
I will say a couple of final things before I put this to bed,,,
People including you Paul could go legal with this instead of trying draw people out in here !!
The near 800k that was in the bank when I took over was already spoken for plus another near 150k on top so to get us through last summer and to the O2 was a great achievement believe me.
I will say about any new company taking over the BDO, if you don’t have the same rules in place that the PDC do your wasting your time because there’s to many people trying to destroy our side, and if you think that will change then your in dream land.
And the only reason I’m handling the refunds for Torremolinos is if I don’t do it personally and it goes through the BDO the people will not see a penny of their money and that is simple fact.
Also Paul as you well know from our discussions, In April 2018 I DID have an investor (a gentleman I’ve known and worked for many years) to the tune of over 500k, but when the Counties voted Sue back in as financial Director I had to have a very honest conversation with the guy and as a result the money was pulled, Sue knows this but to use her words “if I decide to dig my heels in and stay there’s nothing you can do about it”.
Facts are Paul as I’ve said before, my contacts believed in me not the BDO, it’s a phrase that people think I sounded big headed for but it was the truth, simple.
It was a mistake for me to put Facebook back on my phone, I hate the way it makes me feel , I’ve done NOTHING WRONG and the only thing I’m guilty of is thinking I could turn things around with the help of others, thinking that people did want to see our side improve, and trusting the wrong people.
I will not be commenting anymore.
Des
