A replay of the 2018 Premier League Final, Tuesday's showdown will be the first World Championship final since 1983 to feature two players under 30 years of age, with the winner walking away with the £500,000 top prize and the Sid Waddell Trophy.
That was Bristow-Deller weren't it? Bloody hell.

Excellent, the conveyor belt in full flow now. Wonder who is next to reach a world final (or any major final really), Dimitri, Hopp, Aspinall and Payne are some fine contenders. And Cadby, if we ever see him again that is.
He could always try and sneak into Dover on an Iranian migrants boat...

Fellow beardy dart changer Simon Whitlock.

Andy Hamilton and Wes Newton were top 8 in the world that year. :?

and it's taken them 5 years but next month they finally reach the pinnacle. Credit to both.

Wright v Whitlock you say. I don't remember that at all! I'd have wanted Whitlock to win, pretty sure.

The bookies made Whitlock the favourite to beat Wright, despite Wright's great form in the tournament. Wright beat Whitlock. Whitlock reached his career high ranking of world number 3 at that time, with Whitlock defending his 2012 semi final result and Lewis' defeat to van Gerwen in the other semi final (while defending his 2012 winners' prize money) saw Lewis briefly drop below Whitlock.

Taylor vs. Cross last year was just what I wanted in the final (2/2).

In 2017, I wanted Barney vs. Wright (0/2)
In 2016, I wanted Barney vs. Anderson (1/2)
In 2015, I wanted Taylor vs. Anderson (2/2)
In 2014, I wanted Lewis vs. Whitlock (0/2)
In 2013, I wanted Taylor vs. Wade (1/2)
In 2012, I wanted Wade vs. Whitlock (0/2)
In 2011, I wanted Anderson vs. Webster (1/2)
In 2010, I wanted Taylor vs. Barney (1/2)
In 2009, I wanted Taylor vs. Barney (2/2)
In 2008, I wanted Part vs. Mardle (1/2)

phil the great wrote: Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:43 pm wow didn't see this score coming, to be fair this is the best I've seen MVG play without having a dip in form yet, too many loose darts for Anderson, maybe back related, maybe not, such a precise game at this elite level it takes very little to turn a 105 average into a 98 one and that won't do against MVG
What else? Nightmares with Price so he didn't get his 15 hr nap and was tired?
Come on...
He was shit, that happens. This WDC is really something, just look at the semis, one supposed to be close and was hyped and it turned out the other way around. Great stuff
Hope Belly wins!

The defending champ traditionally plays on Night 1.

But the greater principle is to make sure that every session involves a seed.
Fair enough, not like the unseeded player would have much chance against Cross anyway.

However I really don't think every session needs a seed.
Something something strength in depth

You are such a dork. I'll do mine later. Convinced that 2019 is the first time I've ever got what I wanted. Seeing Part-Mardle and Wade-Whitlock typed up there is a particularly sickening reminder of all the suffering, heh. I can't even blame Taylor for those.

Dan Dawson @DanDartsDawson 11h
Nathan dragged his average from less than 92 after two sets (6 legs) up to more than 104 after six sets (25 legs).
For those 19 legs, he was smashing in massive numbers.
Incredible display from him, and from Smith to find a way to maintain his 105 average for the last 3 sets.

Carl Fletcher @CarlyFletch
Over those 4 sets (19 legs) mentioned his 3DA was 108.22.

If I'm not wrong, this is the first time that Youth World Champion is playing a ranking final

I've got a terrible feeling Smith is going to shit himself at the start and average in the low/mid 90's, go about 4 sets down before relaxing when the pressure is off far too late to make a difference.

7-2

Cadby reached the UK Open final in Minehead. Easy to forget about that event, or even that Cadby exists!

Having to hope for your player to rely on an easy draw. Evidence of Dimitri's true ability.
Would have been an easy draw for Devon that

Yeah I'm worried for Smith, I won't believe he can win until he does, a few crucial missed doubles and he could be 3 or 4 0 down easily, the worst thing for Smith would be to have lots of chances, blow most of them and then be thinking of what might have been after the tournament, it doesn't matter how well he is playing he can always miss clumps of doubles so I can't see him winning, I'd love it if he did though.
