The shrooms find it suspicious you've waited until now to focus on the averages

Re: 2019 Worlds - Averages
For comparison here are the avgs from prior years I have courtesy of Armchairfan
2017 Averages from the last 7 tournaments in brackets (2016-2010)
Prelim: 81.99 (79.97 83.39 82.51 80.51 81.12 84.18 80.60)
Last 64: 90.69 (90.27 89.13 88.44 88.58 89.83 87.71 88.24) - note: comparable to the second round for 2019
Last 32: 94.85 (93.98 93.40 94.41 92.82 91.97 91.96 91.45)
Last 16: 96.53 (98.42 97.26 95.72 92.37 94.18 95.23 95.33)
1/4 finals: 100.94 (99.29 100.05 95.34 98.71 94.15 96.43 98.86)
1/2 finals: 106.02 (98.46 101.40 99.76 95.19 96.01 98.23 97.17)
Final: 106.51 (99.74 99.19 97.91 101.85 91.93 99.60 102.46)
if anyone has the "true" averages for 2018 would greatly appreciate posting them here or pm me.
In short the first round can't really be compared to the Prelim round of years past. But I would argue that the first round now certainly is a far better sorting mechanism than years past in relation to who plays a seed at least. So should expect better quality getting thru on average. Therefore; not surprising the Last 64 Avgs have had a more than substantial jump and the seeds have been fucked off at the rate they are. What is surprising; at least to me, is the number of the top 16 seeds have been knocked out after round 2.

Re: 2019 Worlds - Averages
Huh, I really didn't think that the standard in the last 64 was that much better than last year.
All hail the PDC I guess.
