Darting Scoop Of The Year Number One!
Ok, this may have been published already but I'm calling it a scoop. May not be the first scoop but a scoop nonetheless and lifted from Planet Darts.
THE Order of Merit Qualifiers for the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship have been confirmed, and include Michael van Gerwen, Paul Barham, Joe Cullen and Under-21 World Champion Arron Monk.
The £30,000 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship will see 64 players play down to the final at Crawley's K2 Centre on Friday November 4.
The final will then be played live on Sky Sports on Thursday May 16 2012 between the semi-finals and final of the 2012 Premier League Darts at The O2 in London.
The finalists will also be invited to compete in the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts next month, and win a two-year PDC ProTour Card which includes entry fees for 2012 and 2013.
Following Saturday's 15th and final PDC Unicorn Youth Tour event, the top 28 players who have played in at least three events qualify by right to compete in Crawley.
They are headed by four-time Youth Tour event winner Michael van Gerwen, and three-time champions Paul Barham and Joe Cullen, and also include reigning Under-21 World Champion Arron Monk.
Adam Hunt, Shaun Griffiths, Ryan Harrington, Ricky Evans and Reece Robinson also won Youth Tour events during the inaugural year of the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour.
The 28 PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Order of Merit Qualifiers are:

All players who have qualified will be emailed with the Players Brief of information in due course.

Re: Darting Scoop Of The Year Number One!
here are the rules.
If DF mods or admin find something on the net its a scoop.
When other forums do the same its not a scoop.
Curious, when the fantastic interviews that MH did for here were "found on youtube" they never claimed it to be a scoop then,is it because they felt insecure ?

Re: Darting Scoop Of The Year Number One!
in relation to the OP.
I think its a stupid decision.
To get to the final both players will be on form and to take a six month break is stupid. The players could be in a lull or hitting a patch of bad form six months latter and the momentum will not be there.
The kind of stupid decision I would expect from the amatuer bdo

A lot of good players in that list, very open tournament
MVG, Griffiths, Barham, Cullen, Smith, Robinson - wouldn't be surprised to see any of these boys win it

6 months is ridiculous, especially for a youth tournament.
Read on the other darts forum that Josh Jones (who hasnt played a youth tour event in 4 months) has quit darts to join the army so it shows how much things change with them over a couple of months let alone 6.
That said I really cant see past the top 4 names in this, 3 of which play on the pro tour already so their form shouldnt dip that much over 6 months.

Great idea by Mr Hearn thereSnakehipsx2 wrote:I think the best thing about this is that I can put a face to the name of around 20 of these lads, I know that might sound a bit daft but it does go to show that the youth tour has been a success for the PDC in terms of giving the lads a bit of exposure even if it only to darts nuts initially, its a start.
On current form Barham will be a favourite to go through but with so many quality lads in there and the pressure situation anything could happen.
Very surprised that the final is being played on PL final night, pissed up arseholes galore I'd imagine.
Going to take a strong minded lad to not lose his nerve infront 5,000 pissed up idiots chanting "we want Taylor"
