I think its going to stop now. The BDO's announcements 10 days ago were big and I'm sure we'll see an influx of them coming back to us. Been contacted by couple, won't name names, but they are names you'll know !!!
Oche said that Mitchell was taking the piss.

Absolutely no chance he was.
The lump is on the original press release up the page, sincerely giving it "Wow, exciting times indeed and I'm sure all the players in our system can't wait to play in these events."

He probably retweeted this too although I can't prove it... #Exposure  :

No coincidence @BDOdarts found new sponsors & venues whilst @scottydogdart was Champ! @BBCCountryfile #Exposure

McDine will never live that down. What an embarrassment to be taken in by those "new era" delusions and give up your PDC Tour Card.

In fairness to him he'd barely hung on to his card anyway (63rd place) and the way he was going he probably would have ended up in Q School a year later anyway. A change of scenery wasn't the worst idea, though if it was buoyed by the #NewEra stuff then that was obviously a huge blunder on his part.

Kevin McDine was in the 2007 Grand Slam of Darts because he was one of the two wildcard qualifiers, with Chris Mason being the other. McDine was excellent in the tournament, particularly the wins over James Wade (then the most in-form player, alongside Gary Anderson) and Jelle Klaasen. McDine narrowly lost to Andy Hamilton in the semi finals, 12-13, after messing up his last visit to the board. He failed to qualify for the 2008 World Championship regardless, but got to the quarter finals of the 2008 World Matchplay losing to Phil Taylor. After McDine led 3-0 against Dennis Smith at the 2009 World Championship, but eventually lost 3-4, McDine never really seemed the same again, although he still had the odd good TV match win.

In that 2009 World Championship match, Smith hit 32 140+ scores without hitting any 180s.

Was mentioned at the time if I remember correctly. Let's not forget a fleet of coaches to bring everyone from all four corners of the UK to London and of course hot dogs!

The term was still being used on the BDO site in April... It had become such a joke by then that Baz had used it for lols in the BBC/Champions League announcement ffs. Joke.

Most amusing was the WDT venue, dates and broadcaster were announced here way before they appeared on the BDO site. Sure I made all that up as well!
