Bit of moaning going on here about MVG dominating.

It's up to the rest of the players to put a stop to it. If they haven't got the talent or more likely, the bottle, then it's hardly MVG 's fault. Taylor used to be streets ahead of everybody, players have now caught him up. MVG is raising the bar again, surely that's good for the game.

As for him hurting darts, I don't see it. More events than ever, most of them with massive crowds.
We quite rightly berate the BDO for being full of useless cunts, maybe we should do more of that with the also-rans in the PDC instead of deprecating a winner like mvg.

Some people said when Taylor dominated that his dominance might "hurt the game". In reality, the darts world as it exists today (the money included) wouldn't have been here without Taylor's dominance back then and Barry Hearn's business acumen around that. Other players have got the game to beat van Gerwen, even Wright, but missing doubles at crucial moments kills them. Van Gerwen steals some legs and then bangs in a 180 to start the next leg, which crushes the opponent's morale. They have got to start delivering, and not missing. They need to tell themselves that they are playing van Gerwen in a darts match that begins at 0-0, not playing against his CV or reputation.

But make no mistake barney challenging that domination opened up things even more, and no coincidence darts peaked when taylor, ando, lewis etc were all exchanging world titles.

To now revert to a single player dominating is shit, been there done that, and if events today are a foregone conclusion and hardcore fams like me are saying finals are not worth watching, casual fans will be easier to drive away.

Yes its up to the players, but as a viewer the players are not my concern, my concern in my enjoyment, and if ceases to be enjoyable that cannot be a good thing

PT13 and The Shank are right. You cannot blame MVG for winning everything. You have to blame the guys that have the goods like Wright but crap themselves when playing MVG. You can't blame Wade. He has the bottle, but his B-game is just not going to beat MVG.
