The World Championship will be interesting. On paper, there's only 1 winner going by current form, but that was the same last year. He'll have more pressure than usual to deliver considering his general dominance and how he hasn't won the last 2 World Championships. Other players will be really up for the World Championship, and it's the hardest to win.Wolflanternbumbag wrote:Think he'll win World Champinship this year, will win Players Championship also

Anderson is the only one who can stop him imo. Barneveld could do it potentially but they probably won't meet until the semis and the long format will kill him.PT13 wrote:The World Championship will be interesting. Taylor could beat him too, if he turns the clock back for a couple of weeks. The Thorn wrote:Anderson is the only one who can stop him imo. I'd prefer he had all of that, in that exact order.Justin Credible wrote:MVG needs to win everything as in less than 3 years he wont be winning shit.

I've been saying this for ages. Variety of formats is a good thing, but the events are too samey in recent years. It became particularly noticeable once the World Series events came in.Wolflanternbumbag wrote:Need another set play tournament!!!!!!

I think he'll be at the top for another 10 years maybe more.. He's overweight no doubt, but he's not massive. Not as big has Taylor has been over the years or Lewis is nowJustin Credible wrote:MVG needs to win everything as in less than 3 years he wont be winning shit.

no chance.
His stance and throw would hold up.
Nobody with that stance will last longterm

Re: GSOD 2016 - A BDO Free Zone
Being overweight isn't necessarily bad for a player's darts standard. Taylor and Barney played some of their best darts when fat. The problem with being overweight in darts is the stamina issues and the extra mental hurdle that creates in tough matches. A player's decline will also be faster if they are overweight. On the other hand, losing too much weight too soon can be very bad for a player's darts standard too.
Taylor would have long been done as a top darts player had he stayed at his 1997-2000 weight, yet he played mostly amazing darts in that period.

They could look at a tournament that is leg play in early rounds, then it later rounds becomes set play?PT13 wrote:I've been saying this for ages. And in non-ranking majors, he has lost Premier League matches (including the 2015 final), and twice in two days to Taylor in the 2016 Champions League.Justin Credible wrote:..................

Oh James!
He had 5 darts at 56 to win the fifth leg and go 4-1 up. Started by missing the big 16 and fucked the rest of the shot too. Shows the extent to which MVG was possibly there for the taking tonight given that he played so poorly and still won one-third of the legs.
Always used to annoy me when Taylor would toil his way over the line having played poorly by his own standards. In the Euro final MVG was incredible to beat Suljov and in the WGP final against Ando the first 3 sets he won were of ridiculous quality. Didn't win with any style tonight.
Annoying final. Semis were excellent though imo. Two out of three ain't bad.
