Slam clearly going to three players groups then.
Three player groups are wank.

Not sure what to make of the 128 player Worlds. Thought it worked well with 96 the last few years.

Re: Prize Money Announcement March 2025: "...will put a lot of smiles..."
Worlds, Matchplay and Slam massively boosted but a bit disappointed the WGP has been left behind.
The way the article is written is indicating that the Worlds is going to be a bloodbath everyone thrown into the Last 128 with no byes. Otherwise they'd have had a Last 96 and stratified it out a bit more.
Masters has also got no increase and 100k to the winner of the unranked World Series Finals, what the fuck?? Surely it would've been better distributing this further amongst WGP, UK Open or Masters.
Also worth noting in the Premier League prize money- the boring 8 player format is staying yet another year.
No increase in the amount of Euro Tour or PC events being played either for 2026, but I suspect this comes later.
Ultimately though, the big takeaway is 1 million to the World Champion which will significantly impact the rankings, arguably for the worse. The 600k jump from runner up to winner makes it surely the most expensive game of darts of all time.

By the looks of it it will be a straight knock out, that will be some boring matches. 96 had the flaw that when a top 32 player announced he was not playing after the draw the kind-of-number-97 would move to his spot and thus the round 2. But dont think it happened oftenThe Ginge Reaper wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 10:11 am Not sure what to make of the 128 player Worlds. Thought it worked well with 96 the last few years.

Yes the way the prize fund is written it's clearly a flat draw of 128. So starting 11th December then no doubt, with two full rounds between then and the 23rd, unless they reduce length of games.willem0000 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 10:18 amBy the looks of it it will be a straight knock out, that will be some boring matches. 96 had the flaw that when a top 32 player announced he was not playing after the draw the kind-of-number-97 would move to his spot and thus the round 2. 128 player Worlds - disgrace.
Extended Grand Slam - disgrace - let's see qualifying criteria
Any actual improvements? Matchplay Slam and WGP money increase? UK Open and Masters early rounds? Can someone check these?

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

I would like to see the Criteria for the GSOD
I suspect the top 16 will get auto invites regardless of how they do and be seeded in the groups.

In combination with the 128 change (although not sure how many spots end up with the cards) and the 15k minimum, these changes will do a lot for the card holders

Re: Prize Money Announcement March 2025: "...will put a lot of smiles..."
I think worlds look good 1 million to the winner but it’s far to top heavy I would make last 32 30k last 16 50k
Then increase semi to 230k runner up 500k to even it out
I Aslo think it’s time pdc paid last 128 in players championship events it don’t have to go on taking but 250 in 34 event makes the lower tour card holder guaranteed £8500 a year like I hard someone say recently you don’t go to with not to get paid if want your tour card holders to be all pros this will help
