Aye, at the 2005 UK Open. Taylor said that there was a break after every 5 legs, and he thought there was another one at 10-10. Part looked mad as hell when Taylor walked off, but I think he was more pissed off at blowing a 7-1 and 10-6 lead.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:41 pm For those unaware of the Taylor incident that Mardle is referencing:

Part did beat him at the Matchplay later in the summer though.
Both were superb games, but mostly forgotten.

Not forgotten by me. They were classics, like their 2003 World Championship final, their 2002 World Matchplay final and their 2002-2003 World Grand Prix finals.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:52 pmPart did beat him at the Matchplay later in the summer though.

I recall I once checked their head to head and found that the Matchplay 05 was the last significant success Part had over Taylor.PT13 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:55 pmNot forgotten by me. I agree that it was an underrated rivalry between 2002 and 2005.

Part and Mardle in the second round at the 2003 World Matchplay was another. If I remember right, Part led 6-4, Mardle led 12-8 and 1 leg away from victory, Part led 13-12, Mardle won 16-14. And then they met in the second round at the 2003 World Grand Prix, with Part winning 3-2 in sets with virtually the last dart in the last leg.

Mardle also beat Part in the semi final of both the 04 and 05 Desert Classic.PT13 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:06 pm Absolutely.

One of those, I assume 2005, was the game where Mardle played to the crowd during the break between sets. A ploy that got the crowd on his side and upset Part.

Re: The not Rogg's Twatter Watch
Wayne Mardle also beat Colin Lloyd at the 2004 World Championship from 1-3 down in sets to win 4-3, winning something like 8 out of 9 legs at the end. Mardle again beat Lloyd at the 2005 World Championship, in a sudden death leg, to win 5-4. Mardle is often underrated as a darts player these days. He was a player who could go on surges of momentum. Taylor was briefly worried about him, around the first half of 2004 up to their Las Vegas Desert Classic final that year, which Taylor won 6-4 in sets. Taylor and Mardle in their 2006 World Championship semi final, Taylor led 3-0, Mardle surged to lead 4-3 and had darts for 5-3 but Taylor made it 4-4. Mardle again led 5-4, only for Taylor to win 6-5. Taylor was out of breath at the end. Peter Manley that day had destroyed Wayne Jones 6-0 as Taylor struggled to beat Mardle. In the final though, 7-0 to Taylor again.

Not so concerned about the size of his shit but moreso the fact he apparently didn't flush it.

Maybe he curled it the wrong way.
He'll be used to the water going the other direction.

The grand prix finals were probably as good as Taylor ever was.PT13 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:55 pmNot forgotten by me.
