The problem is who would you restrict it to? 128 players? There are often some good players who slip through the cracks for whatever reason and don't make it through the first stage, would you tell players like Plaisier that they can't play this?

Yes is the answer. Q school is brutal and a lottery but having 64 players from each given Challenge tour cards would actually make it a much better competition. The last few Challenge Tours were better then at the start of the year as many didnt bother
