Re: TV listings from the olden days
Why not drop in on Wednesday 13th December 1995? Let's find out.
The BBC is showing the one and only play-off for a spot at Euro 96.
Republic of Ireland v Holland at Anfield. One half on each channel for some reason. Holland will famously play England at Euro 96 so they won.

Some cracking lineups there. Particularly midweek listings - you'd be lucky to get lineups like that on a saturday now

Saturday 21st December 1991.
As told by both the Radio Times and the TV Times.
Looking very Christmassy, especially BBC2. At 5.15pm they have the final episode of Steptoe & Son, originally shown on Boxing Day 1974.

A magnificent lineup of telly. Look at the circling - loads of clashing. Living room and Bedroom VCR recording while watching something else times it would have been!
Also a randall-esque admission, I had a weird crush on Pam Ferris (seated next to David Jason on the cover) in my youth. Think I was just mad about Milf's and BBW's back then. Low and behold my prayers were answered by a welsh angel who came down from heaven and was in every iffy british soap and drama going

Saturday 22nd December 1973.
Legendary Radio Times cover.
The Pertwee Doctor Who era is in its final phase. It's episode 2 of 'The Time Warrior', 5.50pm on BBC1.
There are two pics here of the 'Christmas Darts Spectacular' in the TV Times as one is too blurry and the other is cut off. Lol. It's a pro-am competition sponsored by the TV Times.
