I think I first called him that when he said modus finals week constituted a senior tv title. Little to change my mind since.

He's not Nich ol son, so there's that.

But yes, his voice gets shrill when he goes into overexcited mode.
He's also prone to malapropisms. And there's the hail Mary thing.*

He and Murphy could both benefit from some voice training. Murphy for enunciation, he for voice control.

* A hail Mary is a "throw and hope" as it were. It's a play without precision, which is the opposite of what you need when hitting a high outshot. Only the low probability is shared.
