Must be quite rare for a player to qualify for the Matchplay and fail to make a 64-player PCF field, I know Pipe did in 2020, but he was riding almost exclusively off the back of his 2019 winnings, Beaton seems to have been fairly solid both sides of the new year (clearly not on the PC circuit though!)

Hope Ross the Boss, Scotty Waites both make it.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

It's important that darts doesn't lose its connection with proper players.

Puts a tear in my eye it does. At some point no one would have thought the likes of Waites and Monty would ever be on the PDC tour. It's important that the BDO's legacy is carried forward, well not the shambolic organisation but the spirit of it and the players that have played there over the years.

Mongo Hughes, Bogarde and Veenstra are still there comportably, other BDO legends.

Fair enough on Veenstra and Hughes however Super Mario did nothing of note in the BDO
