Re: cricket thread
Here’s hoping. I believe the Aussies know they are in for a tough series. In recent years we have had the upper hand at hope and at the very worst I think we will win 3 test matches out of the 5Dfc180 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 5:43 pmGuaranteed 2 wickets every test they both playHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 10:19 am I see Warner will be on the Ashes tour. Re: cricket thread
Cunt Broad thinks the last Ashes wasn't a real one because of the Covid rules.

There's a brilliant comment there too from someone that is not me (I swear)
"I am sure Mr Broad wishes his record in Australia across 4 non productive tours could also be void. Home track bowler at best who is a pie thrower down under. The lack of quality English bowling stocks because of injuries to the likes of Archer, Wood and Stone etc. has allowed the Corporal Jones of Dad's Army to prolong a career who's best days are in a rear view mirror from long ago. One spell against a NZ batting side in decline the only highlight of the past 12 months."

Warner is no certainty to play the First Test. He deserves to be dropped due to his form in the last 2 years but unfortunately he won't retire so he's forcing them to drop him.

That double hundred he hit against South Africa last December must have given him some time.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:16 am Warner is no certainty to play the First Test. I’m going to the Headingley test, I really want him to play so I can boo him.

Assuming everybody is fit, what would your opening Aussie 11 be for the first test?Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:30 amHopefully it only bought him 4 Tests in India.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:29 amThat double hundred he hit against South Africa last December must have given him some time.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:16 am Warner is no certainty to play the First Test. For England, there have been rumours of Stoke possibly opening in place of Crawley. I’d go with that to get Bairstow back in. I would be very attacking and go
Duckett
Stokes
Pope
Root
Brook
Bairstow
Foakes
Broad
Archer
Leach
Anderson
If Stokes knee is an issue though he may need another bowler so I’d harshly drop Foakes and bring in Wood.
Thankfully I don’t have to select the team.
The Yorkshire trio at 4/5/6 is potentially brutal for Australia.

Re: cricket thread
The selection has been so haphazard since the 2019 Ashes that there really isn't a viable opening partnership other than Khawaja and Warner right now. Warner will be a disaster and if Broad gets him out it will increase his confidence as well. But literally any other combination will be just as bad.
Travis Head did OK opening in India when Warner was injured but does not have the technique to open in England.
We play India in the Test Championship Final before the Ashes. I think the team there will be
Khawaja
Warner
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Green
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon

Jofra Archer won't play in the Ashes.

That’s a big blow, it might mean Mark Wood has to play more test matches and he needs wrapping in cotton wool with his injuries.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 11:46 am Jofra Archer won't play in the Ashes.

Seems that all the non-Sky T20 county games are broadcast for free on YouTube, to a reasonable standard too. Randall will be chuffed.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x
