Need you to show that form that you did at the qualifiers and take on Rod "Odd Job" Strangeone in a true darts forum showdown.

I'll pump Dave 6-0 in sets and take on the winner. You'll be able to hear the low hum of pigs flying overhead

Good going Rob
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

You must have felt luck was with you today when you flew through the first 2 rounds drawing 2 players that averaged in the 40's against you.

Rob...What happened in the 1st leg against Terry Britton?

You started with a 180, I think with 140 left you scored zero....Did you by any chance bust the 140 by hitting a 140?

Being an Under 70's running average comp I went there to win the event. I could see both were either nervous or not very good. They were there as contenders so I was wary and I did enough to win.

That leg against Britton is embedded in my brain for the wrong reasons and joins a list of my memorable moments in darts.

Britton hit the bull (I hit 25) to throw first. He opened with 140, I replied with 180 and my next 3 darts were 1, 1, 60? All scores are available on darts atlas. I bust 140 and next throw made amends with 100 to leave tops. Hooray!

This is where I learnt Terry couldn't count down. With a dart in hand he had 56 left and hit an 18 to leave 38.

I missed 3 darts at tops and 10's. Up he stepped going for D19 and hit d7, 0, d12. His reaction was great as you'd have thought it was to win the event not the first leg.

In my years of playing you learn to keep going until the final dart is thrown and create your own luck along the way. I joined a band of players affected by a leg that nearly cost me the match as I was fortunate and fucking grateful to be level at 1-1.

Next 2 legs are a bit of a blur. Looking on darts atlas we were both on a double after 18 darts. Terry with tops 1st dart to hold 2-1.

I missed 114 on tops to save the match. Terry was on tops after 15 darts and also missed. 2-2 decider.

Terry throws first. Midway through the ropey leg I took the throw. Wanting 150 I scored 90 with s20, t20, s10 to leave 60. TB is on the big fish (did I just say that) and scored 78 to leave 92.

It's mine all mine, next step semi final...big 20 blocked half the bed but not a problem as the path to the right side of the double is clear. Both darts go high.

Up steps TB, hits treble 20 to leave 32, misses first dart, then boom D16. I cant believe it but took defeat on the chin and wished him well. He reached the final losing 3-1.

For the record Britton is old school punk rocker so he got my appreciation but only after the final when we had a chat. Played in his doc martins and jeans. Later when he put his bomber jacket on I saw it had loads of SLF pin badges. I pointed to my SLF polo shirt and for the next few minutes we talked about Stiff Little Fingers and I loved hearing his stories. Always good chatting with a fellow fan. He said they're the greatest band in the world. Can't argue with that.

We're just 2 old cunts throwing metal at a board. Fuck darts and the 140 bust that twisted my brain. This is the positive memory and the Silver Lining I will now take from our match. SLF Forever!!! 🔥

Modus Super Series Qualifier - Last 32.
Threw with someone else's arm and won 6-3. Last 16 against Kyle, who beat Muffin Man. Had good games with Kyle and feeling confident of a good show after scraping over the line in opening match.

Meanwhile...UK open qualifier and ADC #1 in Midlands table Daniel Lee takes on recent Modus participant Jack Waring in the top half of the draw.

Well it looked alright at 2-2 then you fell apart, You seem stranded at a mid 60's average and making the same mistakes gifting legs to opponents, I would love to practice with you for a couple of hours and show you the mistakes you keep making.
