Thorn, You really have no clue at all do you.

7kg is a large medium or a small large whole turkey, Usually at Christmas family's usually cook a turkey and eat it over a few days or have more than their own household to cook Christmas dinner for, If I ever go over to my mum and dads for Christmas dinner there can be 14 of us there for dinner.

200 grams is an average serving. So 7 kilos would be 35 servings.

So how much of it is bones. I would think it's 1 to 2 kilos

I wouldn't think people weight out portion sizes when making a Christmas dinner

Thorn....If a large Turkey is 7 kilo's and a large Turkey crown is 3 kilo's (A crown is without most of the carcuss, drumsticks, thighs and wings) Then how much of a large whole turkey is waste/bones/carcuss?

If your calculations are right. Then 4 kilos would be waste. I don't know hence why I'm asking

So they are producing waste by throwing away food. That's not good. I would rather weigh out the portions because some people will eat more but some people will have less.

Thorn....

If you went out for a Carvery and say it was any 2 meats they slice and put on your plate...Would you expect them to stand there, slice it and weight it to make sure you only got 200g of meat?
