Re: 2023 Greatest Show on Earth
Well it's obviously going to change on a country by country basis. The PDC isn't competent enough to customise the whole system based on differences in each country. If the qualifier is a whole tour like it is with the CDC, it's obviously going to be tough for UK based players.
But your proposal would benefit the English jobbers and that's the argument you used for Hendo, Murnan etc when in reality they have had more than enough chances. They absolutely don't deserve more spots.
I like the idea of giving some international spots through ranking as well. If you have 2 places for US one of them could come from the main rankings and the other from the CDC

+1, mon the foreign jobbersThe Ginge Reaper wrote:Would rather see two extra foreign jobbers who may be better than two UK-based jobbers who struggled to string together two Pro Tour wins on the tour all year.

Re: 2023 Greatest Show on Earth
I don't think you can switch nationality halfway through the season anyway, from what Wiki and DartConnect say, Koltsov is a neutral competitor now. I don't know the rules regarding nationality in the PDC, but as he was born in Georgia, presumably he can represent them next year if Russia are still banned?DeepFriedRat wrote:Koltsov will be pissed. Not only the Russian Qualifier gone but the South Europe one too, as Greek citizenship I think was his back up
Still puzzles me how the South/East Europe qualifier has been seemingly merged into Eastern Europe, both qualifiers, while obviously full of jobbers, were usually among the better quality ones, and it's not clear what they're throwing it away for as there are still two events that are TBC (my guess is that one is India, but I couldn't tell you what the last one will be!)

Maybe they’re waiting to see what happens with Asia? If Nitin Kumar qualifies then they don’t have to create an Indian qualifier, but maybe I’m giving the PDC too many props to think like that

Wouldn't surprise me if the powers that be in Indian darts just can't organise a piss-up in a brewery, it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened

Yep, averaged constantly in the low 80s. Lost in the last 32 to a Japanese guy.thegentle wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 6:59 pmDid he even play today? That looks like an incomplete version of last year's list to me. Where's it from? The Thorn wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 8:29 amLimited to 16 players. Found this list. - Manfred Bilderl - Christian Bunse - René Eidams - Marcel Gerdon - Kai Gotthardt - Florian Hempel - Max Hopp - Dragutin Horvat - Michael Hurtz - Nico Kurz - Stefan Nilles - Marco Obst - Franz Rötzsch - Martin Schindler - Niko Springer - Lukas Wenigoche balboa wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 8:17 amWhich germans would it be limited to. The Guys on tour or will there be some ranking system in placethegentle wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2022 11:28 pm Tbf, since the German (sorry, PDC Europe) Super League is only for a limited number of Germans who are more than likely going to participate via an invitation, it doesn't really leave much of a chance for many Germans out there who aren't in the Super League to qualify for Ally Pally, I wonder if the Germans who aren't in it will compete in the West European event?
Pretty sure the main driver behind the way it's set up is that Ukrainian players can't get out of the country to play a qualifier elsewhere (the televised Worlds will be a different matter, that's good PR for the country), and nobody from other countries would want to go to Ukraine to play there. At that point it's between "stage a qualifier in Ukraine for Ukrainians" or "de facto ban for Ukraine from the World Championship along with Russia and Belarus", which would be a horrible look for the PDC.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 10:53 am If they want to ban Russia and Belarus then fine. I don’t mind qualifiers from shit regions, happens in the football World Cup too, but the fact it’s solely a Ukraine qualifier and not an EADC one does make it virtue signalling. Not saying there’s be any entries but they should’ve left it open for Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan etc too, a Ukrainian would probably win it but seems unfair to rule out the other countries from that region
Anyway, all the other EADC countries have been put into the East Europe qualifier.

Has anyone even mentioned Kanik's name since he dropped off the tour lol. Krcmar and Bialecki are really good players, especially Bialecki, so that's why people like them!
