I’d say Wales.
But if Dirk is playing well and does end up being teammates with MVG, the Dutch might be up there as well.

How many Italians have you seen comment on the darts World Cup. I’ll guess it’s the same number as I have. The Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:02 pmNo, it's pretty fucking clear based on how people from those countries talk about events or discuss the darts while it's on. Of course it means more to them because it's pretty much the only time they see their players.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 2:59 pmHow do you know this? It's dire.
As someone posted on here a while back, I would rather they held a Shoot Out tournament like they have in Snooker or a pairs event featuring the top 64 in the OOM.
If Italy won the darts World Cup, do you think there would be a sudden upsurge in darts there?
Yes, obviously if a lesser country were to win the World Cup, that would alter the darts scene in said country.
If Italy win the darts World Cup and that nation suddenly embraces darts in a big way, I’ll happily come on here and apologise.

England/Wales/Netherlands and Belgium are the only countries who can realistically win this imo. The rest are making up the numbers.

Re: 2021 World Cup Of Darts
I have seen multiple Italians comment on it yes. And don't give me that crap about Italy winning, it's all about small steps. The tournament is a stepping stone, gives players opportunities. No country is going to become a leading darts nation overnight. For example German darts has greatly benefitted from the events there. There are international players who have had great performances, and possibly can use the World Cup to win prize money and get stage experience.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:06 pmHow many Italians have you seen comment on the darts World Cup. Darts has been popular in Germany for years, which is surprising being as they have never had a top level player. The Thorn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:10 pmI have seen multiple Italians comment on it yes. Shormat is so short it can throw up shocks but hard to disagreeHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:09 pm England/Wales/Netherlands and Belgium are the only countries who can realistically win this imo. The rest are making up the numbers.

You are more likely to get a shock in the first round. So if England did say play Japan, it’s quite conceivable Japan could win, but it’s unlikely they will maintain it over a full tournament.Randall wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:15 pmShormat is so short it can throw up shocks but hard to disagreeHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:09 pm England/Wales/Netherlands and Belgium are the only countries who can realistically win this imo. But they didn’t win it though, and Ireland reaching the final was considered a shock.Safc wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:12 pmHome did Ireland get to the final in 2019 then beating England and Netherlands along the wayHalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:09 pm England/Wales/Netherlands and Belgium are the only countries who can realistically win this imo. Realistically though, can you see any other nation bar the ones I’ve mentioned as winning it?
