This is a bizarre book, there's no other way to preface this review.

It's intended to 'set the story straight', with a foreword claiming that the author is one of the largest booking agents in Ireland. The author at his peak seems to have managed a handful of bands and spends the entirety of the book personally targeting others in competition with him in a personal vendetta.

Of course no story can be told by one person, there needs to be three sides to all stories, yours, mine, and the truth in between. The recurring theme of the book is that the author seems to have a lack of personal soft skills which lead to confrontation at every twist and turn, and poor management skills. There is one common theme, conflict, and one common denominator - Paul himself.

Poor writing skills dominate. It reads as an Adrian Mole diary, or perhaps a Walter Mitty short story than a memoir, and at the final page I found myself wondering what the point of the book was other than to lambaste those he had disagreements with in the past through the written word in some form of 'here's my final word' protest without giving room for retort to those discussed between the covers.

Interestingly the online backlash has led to the author's business facebook page being unpublished as I write this review, and the author is also conspicuous by his absence online. If the intent of this book was to show professionalism, determination and drive it seems to have had quite the opposite effect.
