I watched the history of Ireland documentary a few months ago and they said the same thing.
The people of Dublin spat at and threw things at the rebels as they were led away. All this changed when a military court sentenced the leaders to death and had them executed.
Do politicans not study history, they seem to make the same mistakes over and over again.
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'
