Need to start giving lifetime honourary membership to hall of fame players
As per golf do to an extent
So they can get invites and compete
Players like Barney shouldn’t have to re Qualify to get a card
It's a professional tour ffs

That’s unbelievable 🤯
It would be morally wrong to give any player no matter what their standing in the game a tour card.
I do think though that if they decide to shake the Premier league up again at any point, they ought to bring back past players ( no longer tour card holders)eg Taylor/Lowe/Hankey etc in a similar format to the contenders. Due to the short format there may be the odd surprise every now and again. I think the crowds would like this idea.
I would rather see John Lowe play MVG than someone like Henderson.

Who wants to watch mvg beating up on old legends averaging 50 odd?

Why wouldn't the PDC won't book a 75 year old who hasn't played competitive darts in over a decade against MVG?

50 odd 😂
Okay I’ll
List ex PDC tour card holders who have been legends of the game and in some cases box office.
Was it 9 contenders?
My 9 ex player picks would be,

Taylor
Mardle
Lloyd
Part
Lowe
Priestley
Hankey
Harrington
Warriner-Little

I reckon all those would average minimum 80 over the shorter format. Some could get in the 90s
Phil could possibly still get a ton average or certainly 95 plus.

You can change the names around if you like, it’s only an idea and one which I’m sure would get people interested. John Lowe still scores decent on the exhibition circuit by all accounts and after all “some on here” see the PL as a glorified exhibition.

You've only brought up this idea so you have an excuse to post about Ted Hankey.

Well more people will know who John Lowe is compared to John Henderson. Yes Lowe would undoubtedly lose and at best would probably win 1 or 2 legs but it would potentially get a few casual dart fans interested.

Normally I would agree with that but he wasn’t the focus of this debate. Take Ted out if you like and stick in someone else.
Out of interest let’s say this idea was going to happen as a one off and it was upto you and you only to pick 9 exPDC tour card holders. Who would you pick?

As long as I get a 50 average I’ll be happy with that.

A genuinely sad day

In my learned opinion, the best player never to win a world title, and a top ten player of all time.

Will probably be remembered as the hardest darts player ever, which isn’t wrong.

Sad day.
Very late to this but "learned opinion"...uhh what the fuck??

Some serious retards floating about on FB. Mind, one time I had an argument on YouTube with some cunt who called Jim Williams a "legend of darts".

Pack of mongs.
