Re: The All Time Greatest Albums
We no doubt own many great albums.
For me there are only two albums based on "first listen" that clearly stand out like no others i've owned.
I unwrapped the CD ( unfortunately my record player was long gone) and plugged in the headphones.
From the opening track to the final song, each track suprisingly blew my mind.
The album - Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros - Streetcore. released in 2012.
The Clash were a formidable unit, right up there with the best, but this was nothing like I'd heard before and the power of music won the day.
in an instant this took me back 33 years to the only previous long play where every track had had this effect.
The Specials - Specials, released in 1979.
Whilst owning 100's of records, only these 2 on first play achieved 10/10.

For me it is Nevermind the bollocks here’s the Sex Pistols. That album was a music game changer.Suspect Device wrote:We no doubt own many great albums.

Good shout out for the first Specials album as well.
