Mitchell playing well recently. Fitton ran out of steam. Adams unlikely to be a seed for 2018 Lakeside

Sweden Open
Scotty Dog 6-1 Fitton (74.94)
Scottish Classic.
Cameron Menzies 5-0 Ted Hankey (66.79)
Keep collecting those rankings points, oldies!

Would Ted still be top ten in the PDC easily?

I thought he would have, Why because i thought he would have cracked on in the PDC and maximised his talent/Ablity. It didnt work out for the bloke, still has been a great player but should be doing more exbos and binning off the BDO

always was too inconsistent for the pdc.
15 years ago when it was just the major events ironically he may have faired better.
week in week out on the floor there are just far too many more competative and frankly better players for him to have gained any foothold.

Im actually surprised he has made the final of a floor ranking event to be honest, its his first final of any note in over two years.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

To be fair there were few entries in this. and others were just super league scots players.

The field must have been brutal for Ted to make final averaging 74.

I've thought a bit about why Ted Hankey failed so badly in the PDC. I think it was a combination of a culture shock, as Hankey seldom played all that many tournaments per year in the BDO and was suddenly playing a load of floor events in the PDC, and just sheer bad luck with unforeseen health issues.

All that is probably true, but he also just wasn't plain good enough.

Ironically enough, I think Hankey in the BDO had a similar thing going on as Taylor in the PDC. I wouldn't call it a fear factor, but there was clearly something about that whole stage persona and demeanor that affected his regular opponents. And then he went to the PDC in 2012 which was rapidly overhauling itself at the time, and he ran directly into a buzzsaw of motivated players on the floor who didn't give a single crap about his persona and just battered him off the board.
If Hankey switches 5 to 10 years earlier he's never winning a second world title, but he probably becomes a consistent TV player in the then still lower-depth PDC, maybe even makes PL appearances. But in 2012 he was already a darts anachronism.

His act put plenty of people off in the pdc as well.
The faking a stroke to put mvg off Didn't work though.

Hankey switched because his GSOD madness got his high level sponsors & exbos, He was never really a BDO man (but was in the pocked of Fatso) . It didnt work for him as he not much of a floor player and health issues.
