Maybe DBG could give us an insight as to how it feels?

He is also a Modus legend now.

Format confirmed by someone who isn't oche. More inequality here... thank god.

Legplay for the woman first round then.

The men's final is cut to Best of 11 which I like for several reasons. It had been best of 13 since 2006 when Klaasen won it.

Men
Final - Best of 11 sets
Semi-finals - Best of 9 sets
Quarter-finals - Best of 7 sets
Last 16 - Best of 5 sets
Last 32 - Best of 5 sets
Last 48 - Best of 3 sets

Women
Final - Best of 7 sets
Semi-finals - Best of 5 sets
Quarter-finals - Best of 3 sets
Last 16 - Best of 3 sets
Last 24 - Best of 11 legs

Cutting back the format isnt great tbh, all the earlier rounds up to the L16 also get a similar treatment.

Reducing the men's and lengthening the women's is suicide without fallon or ashton

Reducing formats is bad for the players of course, especially the better players. They'll hate it.

What catches my eye is that the men's final is no longer the same length as the Ally Pally final. This change is an at-a-glance downgrade of the amateur title. Just like dropping the word 'Professional', it's like they're settling into a much more modest space instead of just chasing the PDC. The WDF seem very relaxed about their status, which is all we ever said the BDO should be.

I had that link bookmarked (yes, I know). It exists as you can tell by clicking on it. It has disappeared from its usual home on the 'Majors' page though: https://dartswdf.com/wdf-majors

So it definitely exists. It's just not being linked to currently.
