You could rerun a real-life tournament from the past (well, obviously the past), using its real schedule and bracket. See if we can fix history but end up wrecking it even harder.

How about running a prediction game as a knockout cup instead of a league? The big problem being that people forget and go missing, causing byes all over the place.

I think it's a good idea this for example ones of the ITV tournaments.

It's set out in the rules 32 people can compete

So we have 16 ties on the friday 16 go through 16 out.
Saturday afternoon 8 ties 8 go through 8 out
Saturday night 4 ties 4 go through 4 out
Sunday afternoon 2 ties 2 go through 2 out
Sunday night is the final 2 winner takes all.
