2021 World Matchplay ~ 17-25 July

Post by Rogg » Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:36 pm

Cut-off date: To be confirmed but following conclusion of final Players Championship or European Tour event before World Matchplay

Someone says it's 100 days away as scheduled so hang on. 22 left in April, a few more in May, 30 in June, July 17th... could be.

Crowds in at the Winter Gardens? It's nice to dream...

Clayton still hasn't scraped into the top 16.

Looking at the last 4 money to be defended from 2019... could be a bit problematic for some.

Anything less than the semi's could see Cross out of the top 10..

The current Super Series (ends Tuesday) is the only thing currently scheduled that can affect the Matchplay race.

The end of the next batch of PL darts looks ripe to slot a Super Series in. It goes Wed-Fri in MK, so the following Sat-Tues for the tour seems possible, with the 8-man PL staying in a week-long bubble. Before leaving on the Tuesday night for 5 days before the PL finishes the week after.

Hopefully looking at maybe 3 or 4 more blocks squeezed in within May, June and start of July before the cut-off.

I can't remember who it was but possibly either Porter or Dawson state as fact that there won't be any Pro Tours in May, they described it as a "dry month other than PL"

Genuine question.

Can Headshaker realistically qualify for this?

Yes. A final and he is in the spots.
Boring Brendas number one and (almost) only fan.

Smithys number one and (definitely not) only hater.

Fingers and dicks crossed. We really don't need that cunt, the commentators would be waffling on about the cunt endlessly. Though most of those cunts get an instant mute anyway. I'm sure they would tell tales how determined Barney is etc. No he is not. He's a wanker who came crawling back because his ex wife took half his money and the new bird needs a boob job and an exotic island. The only job postman has is to turn up at a leisure centre, stand straight and throw some darts. Needless to say even that task is too much for him sometimes. The cult like attention RVB gets makes my stomach turn inside out.
