One thing about what MAD/WDF put on will be the easy perspective. With the BDO, the winners were players who had little or no history in PDC darts, leaving lots of room for guesswork and delusion about who they were and how well they would do in the PDC. It was all too muddy.

From here, a final could be something like Richardson v Thornton. It's plainly obvious what that is and what it isn't. Both have years of PDC results as evidence. This clarity will be great news for darts.
