Taylor had to take out 74 in 2004, or else Painter would have had three darts at 32 to win the PDC world title. People on here would have to put him top fifteen if he manages that, but because of someone else taking out a tricky finish he's not top 40.

This is why being consistently good over a period of time has to be the top criteria. People able to prove time and time again how good they were, not flashes in the pan who put together the odd spectacular moment.

Had RVB, King, MVG, Thornton, etc, stayed, Adams would have won fuck all in the BDO.
